Merger with Pemberton Evangelical Church Announced (26/11/2017)

The members of Jireh Baptist Church and Pemberton Evangelical Church are pleased to be able to announce that in the providence of God their two churches have agreed in principle to merge to form a new Church witnessing in the Orrell, Pemberton and Lamberhead Green areas of Wigan.

Only the simple intention to merge has yet been decided upon, no decisions about places of worship, a name for the new fellowship or the host of other details have yet been made. The two churches will continue to operate separately for the time being while all these matters and various legal requirements are attended to.

The churches give thanks to God for bringing them together in this way to form a united reformed witness in the area.  We would ask for your prayers as we spend the next few months working out the myriad details that will need our attention before we can announce a final merger date.
